Re: cards in England 1413 ????

I didn't find any more playing card notes ...

So it's not much, 3 dates in the course of ca. 30 days. Somehow in this time Richard II. regained his honor by getting a burial place in Westminster, possibly Edmund Mortimer was indirectly honored, cause he had been heir to Richard. Naturally this would be a period, where he had a central role (and naturally had to pay for it). It would be interesting to know, if in this time French or German guests were in England - who possibly caused, that cards were played, which should have been a "foreign game" ... as far we know it.

«Cards and Cards: Early References to Playing Cards in England», The Playing-Card, vol. 41, no. 3, Jan.-March 2013", p. 165-169 ... by Thierry Depaulis.

... has taken up the same theme. 3 years later.
... :-) ... actually I wonder, if Depaulis ever gave a reference to an article here in the Forum. I can't remember one.
Our local search engine knows 669 articles, in which the name Depaulis appears. Maybe, that in matters of literary politeness we've possibly a lead of 669 : 0.
