We had this earlier ... yes, the both letters of 1450 are there. But the letter, which reports something about the Malatesta interest in Trionfi cards we didn't find.

And the letters govern only a few periods ... at least in the moment.

Her browser is not working very well (I tried "triomphi" and found nothing.)

Anyway, it's interesting for general information about Francesco. Now I go ten days in vacation (without internet :-s ). When return I search with tranquility.

According to Bandera, Malatesta's letter was published by E. Motta in "Documenti per la libreria Sforzesca di Pavia", Il Bibliofilio X (1889), pp. 107-108.

If you search the terms "carte da triumpho" or "carte da triumpho per zugare", in Google Books, you'll get the reference, but the book is not available to view.

I have tried to use proxy servers, but my search keeps being in French, so I guess France has somehow found a way around most proxies (or FireFox for France has blocked most of them, etc. I'm not smart enough to get around it). Someone in another country might have better luck.

According my information Dummett wrote
"From a letter of 1451 from Bianca Maria Visconti to her husband Francesco Sforza, asking him to send to Sigismondo Malatesta, lord of Rimini, a pack of Tarot cards of the kinds made in Cremona, which he had asked for the previous autumn, we may infer that Cremona was especially renowned hand-painted playing cards of this kind. (39)" (Page 22)
Note 39: (unluckily I've not note 39 .... anybody else?)

According to this there are possibly 3 letters: One from Malatesta, one from Bianca Maria to Francesco, one from Francesco to Malatesta (... or this letter never became written). Possibly (or probably) only the letter Bianca Maria to Francesco exists nowadays.

Contradicting Andre Vitali insisted on November 1452.

Trionfi.com once took 1452 from Pizzagalli's report
